My Drive C: died again yesterday... I was screaming in myhead... OMG!!! NO WAY!!! this can't be... NOOOO DON'T DO THIS!!! 3 months worth of work and sketches with no back up!!! GAH!!! NOOOOO!!!... while staring at the black monitor with " Hard Disk Error " on the screen.

I still dunno what'll happen with the files 'till I get it later from the repair shop... XD hope everything is fine when I get it back later.

Just got my computer a while ago... they managed to salvage 3 of my partitions :) D, E, and F good thing that all my artworks were in Drive F :) and are working just fine :) though I had to say goodbye to 17 gigs of Mp3's since D had started to have bad clusters already XD

now I can breath easily XD

anyway back to backing up files XD

*** DAMN!!! and I was planing on finishing some of the commissions this weekend.

thanks for all your support.

Even if a harddrive dies, it's information can still be salvaged. Although you should fix a new harddrive and reinstall (atleast) your OS program and plug in the "crashed" harddrive as a slave unit so you can start to salvage everything you want from it. Nothing will be damaged by doing so. Works everytime for me. ^^

Good luck fixing it.

i think it happens due to the excess of read and write movements of the "needle" over the HD surface.

i mean, if you're listening mp3 and downloading in the same disk, the "needle" goes like crazy, going after the thiny bits scattered everywhere...

That's why you should save all your imortant works on CD or USB drive ;).

I do believe you should invest in an external USB hard drive and backup every project religiously to it.

That a terrible news, next time make sure to save a back up. Buy a memory stick or something to hold it in. Hope you can recover it. All those great art gone. That must have put a lot of time go to waste.
